Lorena and Ryan O'Malley live in an awesome retro complex that is a spitting image of Palm Springs in the 1950's. The courtyard is designed around a pool and just outside their doorway they've built a succulent garden.

Spotted in the Alessi showroom in Milan last week, this perfect wastebasket is made of 18/10 stainless mirror polished steel and creates a lovely visual movement in the crossing of its wires.
 
As I photographed this in the store, a few others did as well. This type of clean, strong modern design is what Alessi does so well.
