That's me up there a few days ago inside our cozy vacation cabin in Big Sur, trying desperately connect to wi-fi during the duration of a significant last-days-of-winter storm which battered the coast so badly, part of the highway collapsed into the ocean. I had planned to avoid getting online during our 4 day trip up the Central Coast, with grand intentions of unplugging except for a little reading via the iPad in the evening and maybe a little Netflix streaming (our cabin was wonderfully sans TV). As someone who is online nearly 24-7, an escape from Google Docs, project planning, emails and IMs seemed like the perfect prescription. But nature had different plans...
